Happy Halloween!!

Dear class,

Just a reminder that tomorrow we will be celebrating Halloween, so please bring your COSTUMES! If you don't have a full costume, you can just wear something simple, like an exotic mask, a crazy hat, or a weird wig. Or, if you want, you can wear orange and black, the traditional Halloween colors.

Now, this is not obligatory--but it makes class much more fun ;). So, if you wear something special, you will receive extra credit in the form of a 100% class participation grade.

Midterm

Hey, class! Just wanted to remind you that this week we DO have class--in fact we have our midterm! It will be an oral (speaking) exam and it will be worth 20% of your grade. The exam will cover units 1 and 2 in your book. We will review in class before the test, but please take some time this week to prepare on your own. Doing your homework is one good way to review, but since this will be a speaking test, the best thing you can do is to just talk to someone in English or listen to something in English, like TV, music, etc.
